Small Batch Ceramics

So you're wondering, how much is small batch, anyway? I'm sure the answer is different for different people/businesses. For me, as a one woman maker and small-business owner who crafts each item by hand, small batch is small -- typically 4 - 8 pieces per run.

I noticed a few items were getting back ordered and ordered as sets so for this year's holiday market season, I pushed to make more of those items. I worked full time on making from mid-August through the end of October to build up stock for markets. In that time I made about 32 vanilla rain or shine ice cream bowls, 32 chocolate chip rain or shine ice cream bowls, 28 blue with cream mugs and 120 items total.

I will be bringing 20 ice cream bowls and 20 mugs to each show, but if you have your heart set on something specific, especially if you are considering purchasing a set, I suggest you arrive early to ensure you get the items you want.
