FAQ
Glazes used inside of dishes (bowls, mugs, colanders, garlic keeps, etc) are food safe. All items are microwave/dishwasher safe. Several customers reports that their products have been used on average 2-3 times per week and washed in a home dishwasher.
Some items are marked as café collection, meaning the glaze/clay combination has been durability tested to an even higher level than my other products. The café collection combinations are used several times per day and frequently washed in a commercial dishwasher; so far, these mugs have shown no accelerated signs of wear!
That said, I always recommend handwashing to preserve the finish of your piece and extend the life of your of handmade art.
I am getting into selling at a few markets each year. Check out in the wild for more details on upcoming shows.
I am also involved with several non-profits and community organizations where you may find specialty pieces and/or donated items. Examples include American Cancer Society's Sushi For a Cure, Blueprint's Gala and Grand Concert, Literary Arts' Café and more.
Yes! My main website currently features only an illustrative sampling of my work.
Contact me if you're interested in anything you've seen on Instagram or in person. You can also subscribe to a newsletter for updates every month or two (including details about market appearances) or become a member if you're interested in a quick heads up every time I add a new product or blog (estimated every week or two). I also accept commissions as possible.
It depends. :)
I find myself working in themes. If you're interested in a piece/style I'm focused on, I will accept a limited number of commissions within that season's theme.
Also -- requests for items I haven't made before push me to think outside my box and learn something new.
If you'd like to commission a piece, contact me and we can discuss timing, pricing, feasibility, etc.
I intentionally make my pottery the hard way -- i.e., without modern tools, molds, precise measurements....
While I have no issue with folks who approach their potting differently, I enjoy making purely handmade pieces, honing my intuition and muscle memory. That said, this approach results in differences in each item that make them unique, and difficult to duplicate with precision. If I am making several of a particular style, I can usually make items relatively similar, but please don't expect factory or machined precision in my work. That's why we have factories and machines. :)
If you would like to purchase items as a set, feel free to contact me for more information or photos of the pieces before ordering. All sales are final.
I expect to evolve the members into a community of "Lizzie's friends" so members will receive - and offer - trust and congeniality. That said, I'm still working out the particulars of membership.
I'm toying with the idea of leaving social media and making similar updates to my website -- sending quick blurbs to alert members of the latest work. While I can see this may be annoying to have another place to look for folks who regularly log into IG, I'm thinking it might also be nice for folks not there to be able to see more regular updates, and its relatively easy to view and delete a quick note every week or two. Even at that rate of emails, It won't be as spammy as most companies. 🙄 Then everyone with email gets the same opportunity to see my latest work! See all the latest ideas and details on the member benefits page.
If you have additional ideas to create a vibrant community I'm all ears.

Good question! Why is shipping so expensive? I based my shipping prices on a few test items but I am still new to figuring it all out. I am happy to refund any excess shipping costs by request, though I am not sure how often the shipping rate will be lower than listed. Fingers crossed for both of us!
