Wake up with warmth and intention. Lady E’s everyday mug is a small-batch handmade ceramic mug, thoughtfully crafted in a century old home in Portland, Oregon where locally-sourced clay and glazes uplift small businesses.

 

Made to be beautifully functional, this mug is ideal for your morning coffee, afternoon tea or cozy evening cocoa.

 

Lady E’s book mug was originally designed for the Literary Arts café, a community-based non-profit and is also a nod to my early days as a bookworm. Each mug is wheel-thrown and hand carved with a book open to your favorite chapter. The burrs are removed, then staining is applied into the grooves before carefully glazing to convey an antiqued look. Electronic devices are convenient, but nothing feels quite like a well-loved book.

 

This process makes each piece unique, supporting quiet contemplation or shared moments with personalized mugs –- a little reminder that even ordinary moments can feel extraordinary when shaped with intention.

 

I hand wash all of my pottery, but as part of the café collection this piece is field-tested to be microwave- and dishwasher-safe, durable enough for long-lasting everyday use.
